REGISTRATION for our SPRING 2017 session is OPEN!! Moove and groove to the songs in the "Maracas" song-collection; including "Jumpin' Josie", "Wiggle", "Train to the City" and many more!
Sadly, Music Together of Arlington is not able to run summer classes. Rocky DiRico runs a lovely martial arts themed summer camp and uses the classroom space during our "usual" class times. To continue making music through the summer, please follow Will, Carolyn and Jen to www.MysticValleyMusicTogether.com in Medford.
Weekly 45-minute classes* include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences - developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers... regardless of their own musical ability. Enrolled families receive a beautifully illustrated songbook, a CD and access to the new Family Music Zone online portal - so you may download the songs for the session and play interactively online (for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer sessions; receive a printed lyrics booklet for our Seasonal Sing)! Music Together® classes present a curriculum based on children's need for play and devoted to your child's musical development.
* schedule subject to change depending on class enrollment levels
This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age four through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.
This class combines all the elements of a regular music class, but it is set in a senior living facility, where the residents participate with us by singing, playing instruments, or simply watching. The class allows for and encourages interaction between the children and the seniors. With rhythm instruments, songs, play materials and movement, we create a rich musical experience for everyone.
Music Together of Arlington reserves the right to cancel or reschedule
any class that does not meet satisfactory enrollment numbers.
